Levant News was first published in Arabic on 1st November 2001 by the media team at The Levant Institute.

The brief daily newsletter soon turned into a rich website full of news stories and articles that bacame a major source of news on Syria for Arab readers.

After more than five years of continuous success, Levant News launched a trial version in English on 15th March 2007.
